Referrals to Learning Support
We strongly encourage all applicants to disclose any learning differences on their application form, as personal information will not automatically be transferred onto us. This will not have an adverse effect on their application but will enable our team to make contact with them before they start college and ensure that we have appropriate provision in place for when they begin their journey with us.
If at any point, students (or their parents/carers) have any questions or concerns about a potential learning difference, they can speak to our SENCo, their personal tutor or one of their subject teachers.
A member of the Learning Support team will arrange an initial meeting to assess what their areas of difficulties are and discuss any concerns they may have. Feedback will then be gathered from their teachers/parents or carers to help build an accurate picture of need which will be used to put together a bespoke package of support.
They may then be assigned an Inclusion Coordinator who will work with them on specific study skills and may also be put on the waiting list to meet our Exam Access Arrangements coordinator to identify if they would be eligible for exam access arrangements in exams.
