Contacting Children’s Services: Information for Students

If a serious safeguarding or child protection situation occurs outside of college hours, regarding you or a friend, and where it is not possible to contact a safeguarding lead, please follow the steps below and then contact the DSL or a Deputy as soon as possible.

If you are at imminent/significant risk of harm/immediate danger you should call 999 in the first instance (for police and/or ambulance).

Anyone can make a referral to Children’s Services. If you decide to call them, they will want to know:
• Full name
• Date of birth
• Address
• Personal telephone number and numbers for significant adults (e.g. parents/guardians)
• Names and dates of birth of any siblings and the school they attend (if possible and relevant)
