Accessibility Statement

King Edward VI College is committed to making its website accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of disability or impairment.

This accessibility statement applies to: www.kedst.ac.uk

Compliance status

This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard, due to the non‑compliances listed below.

What we’re doing to support accessibility

We aim to ensure our website is usable and accessible. To support users, this website uses the Recite Me assistive toolbar, which provides a range of accessibility tools including:

  • Screen reader functionality
  • Translation into multiple languages
  • Text resizing, spacing and colour contrast options
  • Reading rulers and magnifiers

The Recite Me toolbar can be launched by clicking the “Accessibility” button on any page.

Please note: assistive technologies such as Recite Me work best when used alongside accessible website design. We continue to improve the underlying accessibility of our website content.

Known accessibility limitations

We are aware that some parts of this website are not fully accessible. These may include:

  • Some older PDF documents not being fully accessible to screen readers
  • Occasionally missing alternative text for images
  • Inconsistent heading structures on older pages
  • Some colour contrast issues in legacy content

We are working to address these issues as part of our ongoing website development and content review.
