Students will an EHCP will have to follow two processes to apply to college:
- Apply directly through our website to ensure your application is received before our Equal Considerations deadline. Once accepted, you will receive our conditional offer.
- Alongside your application, you will need to ask the Local Authority to consult with us to ensure we map out the level of support which will be put in place to support your transition. If you feel confident that our provision meets your need and you would like us to become your preferred choice, then you will need to nominate us in your EHCP.
Transition support
In order to make sure you are off to the best possible start we will:
- Arrange a telephone/face-to-face meeting with your parents/carers and yourself;
- Speak to your school’s SENCo;
- Where necessary, visit you in your current school;
- Invite you to meet us before your Taster Days (in June) to ensure you are fully aware of what will be happening on that day and discuss any provision which will be useful for you;
- Meet you on your first day in September;
- Meet you as regularly as needed during your first few weeks;
- Carry out classroom observations to ensure the provisions listed in your EHCP are being met
- Continue to review your progress against your EHCP targets and review these annually.
