A-Level Results Day – Thursday 13 August 2026

Further information will be added over the coming months for post results processes and FAQ's - these pages will be where we share any updates.

A Level Results Day guidance

Results will be available via your student portal from 8.00 am on Thursday 13 August. This will be all the information you need to make decisions about university places and any potential reviews of marking. Grade boundary information can be found on the left hand menu, published on the day.

You will be able to obtain physical copies of your results from the Henry Hickman Library between 9.00 – 11.00 am or from reception from 11.30 am onwards. Hard copies of results are held at reception for 2 weeks and can be collected Monday-Friday 9.00 am – 4.00 pm.

Anyone collecting on behalf of a student will need to bring a letter of authorisation and their own ID.

There will be a range of post-results support available on campus on results day [no appointment needed on results day itself] or appointments can be made by emailing progressioncounselling@kedst.ac.uk for one-to-one appointments from Friday 14 August onwards.

We look forward to seeing you there!

We ask that you please enter and exit the campus only by the front main entrance on Duke Street during this time [Lower High Street will be locked/no access] and do not wonder past any barriers set out on site.
Book return

If you still have a library book, textbook or equipment from your subject, please could you remember to return this when you come in to collect your results. You can hand your items in main reception or the Henry Hickman Library. Any unreturned books will result in a fine.

We’d love to know what your next steps are!

Please take a moment to let us know your intended destination—whether that’s university, an apprenticeship, employment, or something else. It’s really important that we collect this information. You can fill in this short form before, on and after results day or you can scan the QR code on posters around campus on the day.

What do I do if my grades were not what I expected?

We strongly encourage any student in this situation to meet with a member of the counselling team on A-Level Results Day. The team will be available onsite, between 8.00 am – 4.00 pm, on Thursday 13 August or if you are unable to attend on Results Day itself, you can email progressionsupport@kedst.ac.uk to book a one-to-one counselling appointment from Friday 14 August.

To help navigate and support students through their exam results (both A level and GCSE), the West Midlands Combined Authority (WCMA) have created ‘The Post-Exam Survival Guide‘ for students and parents.

What support is available on site on the day?

Our Faculty Directors and Lead Tutors will be on hand to help you analyse your results and to offer advice on the full range of post-results services, such as how you can request your script back, get a clerical check or even ask for a review of marking.

The Careers Team and Lead Tutors will be available to discuss progression to your next steps, especially if you have missed the grades you require to access your preferred choice. They will be able to offer support with UCAS Clearing services and advise on employment and apprenticeship opportunities too.

If you chose not to make a university application in Year 13 but would now like to, there will be staff onsite who can assist you with this.

If you need support with your progression plans and you are unable to visit campus, please email: progressionsupport@kedst.ac.uk

What do I do if I need help and advice from UCAS including Clearing Advice on the day?

✅ Make sure you’re available on results day because UCAS can’t speak to anyone else about your application details unless you give them nominated access to speak on your behalf.

✅The secret to navigating results day is to come armed and ready so check out the UCAS Ultimate Guide to Results day before hand! You may also want to check out this link to prepare for the possibility of needing to enter Clearing.

Times to note:

What do I do if I no longer wish to take my first choice place?

From 2 July, if you are holding a firm unconditional place, you can release yourself into Clearing, by using the ‘Decline your place’ button in your application.

⚠️ You should only use this button if you are sure you no longer wish to take up your place at your firm choice, and you have spoken to your university or college and/or an adviser here at college.

I would like to remain at the same university or college but I want to swap my course, what do I do?

First, you should contact the university or college directly to check whether spaces are available on the course you’re interested in. This can vary between providers and will also depend on whether the course you want to switch to is closely related to your current one or in a completely different subject area. Be aware that entry requirements may also need to be reconsidered.

Once the university has confirmed that you can switch, you’ll need to use the ‘Decline my place’ option in your application. This will release you from your current firm choice, allowing you to add a new course.

⚠️ Important: If you select the ‘Decline my place’ option and complete the process, your place will be declined immediately. This action cannot be undone by UCAS. Therefore, it’s essential to ensure everything is fully agreed and in place with your new course before proceeding.
