King Edward VI College invites generations of families and milestone‑year alumni to be a part of special 50th anniversary celebration on 26 September
King Edward VI College Stourbridge is preparing to throw open its doors for a major daytime celebration on Saturday 26th September 2026, from 12pm to 3pm, as part of its 50th anniversary year as a sixth form college — and this time, the invitation is reaching across the generations.
The College is reaching out to families whose King Ed’s connections span the generations — great‑grandparents, grandparents, parents, and the young people continuing the tradition today — as well as alumni marking their own incredible 50th milestones this year, whether that’s a 50th birthday, a 50th marathon, or another golden achievement. This year’s celebration will include the burial of a special time capsule, and we’d love you to play a central role in shaping this once‑in‑a‑generation moment!
Whether your King Ed’s memories were made in the late 1970s, the early 2000s, or you’re proudly watching another generation walk through the gates today, the anniversary event promises an afternoon of celebration, nostalgia, and discovery Want to be involved in the big moment when we bury our 50th anniversary time capsule? Holly Bembridge, Principal, said:“Our 50th anniversary is about celebrating the people who have shaped King Ed’s — not just our students and staff, but the families and community members who have been part of our story for generations. This is a celebration for everyone: for those who studied here, worked here, or who simply feel a connection to the College at the heart of Stourbridge. We’re especially excited to welcome multi‑generation families and those celebrating their own 50th milestones this year — it’s the perfect moment to celebrate together.”
The 50th anniversary celebration on 26th September is one of several events planned to mark this milestone year, alongside an anniversary concert, alumni football match, student‑led projects, and a heritage exhibition reflecting on the College’s past, present, and future.
