KE50 Celebration Concert to Showcase Musical Talent at Stourbridge Town Hall
As part of the King Edward VI College’s KE50 celebrations, an exceptional evening of music will take place on Saturday 26 September at Stourbridge Town Hall, bringing together current students and distinguished alumni for a special classical concert. Curated by Subject Leader for Music, Tom Pankhurst, and his team, the Celebration Concert promises to be a highlight of the anniversary programme, celebrating the rich musical heritage and continued excellence of the college’s community.
The event will feature performances from both current students and music student alumni, offering audiences a unique opportunity to hear former pupils return to the stage in tribute to KE50. The programme includes a selection of renowned works such as Brahms’ Academic Festival Overture, Strauss’ Metamorphosen (7-part version), Fauré’s Cantique de Jean Racine, and Vivaldi’s Gloria, showcasing a breadth of classical repertoire.
The concert will take place from 7.00pm to 8.45pm, with doors opening at 6.00pm. Following the performance, guests are invited to attend a reception running until 10.30pm, providing an opportunity to connect with performers, staff and fellow members of the KE community. Tickets will be available to book from Monday 15 June via the Stourbridge Town Hall box office, both online and in person. Prices are set at £10, with concessions at £8. Music is such a powerful way to do that. I’m very grateful to Tom Pankhurst and the wider Music team for putting together what promises to be a really special evening.”
