King Edward VI College Stourbridge has announced a major daytime celebration event on Saturday 26th September 2026, from 12pm to 3pm, as part of its 50th anniversary year as a sixth form college.

The event will bring together former students, former staff, current students, families, and members of the local community for an afternoon of celebration, reconnection, and reflection on the College’s role in local life since 1976.

While the College’s history stretches back to 1552, this anniversary marks 50 years since King Edward VI College became a sixth form college. The event on 26 September will be one of the key moments in that anniversary year, giving people the chance to revisit the College, reconnect with others, and celebrate the generations of students and staff who have shaped its story.

The afternoon will include an archive and heritage exhibition, panel discussions and alumni stories, guided campus tours, live music, food and drink, an artisan craft market, and space for former classmates and colleagues to meet up and catch up. A vintage car display celebrating vehicles from across the last 50 years will also form part of the event.

Although the day will have a strong alumni focus, it is also open to the wider Stourbridge community. Local residents are warmly invited to come onto the campus, explore the site, and take part in a celebration of an institution that has been part of the town for generations.

Holly Bembridge, Principal, said:

“Celebrating 50 years as a sixth form college gives us a chance to bring people together. We want former students and staff to come back, share memories, and see how the College has developed, but we also want this to be a day for the wider community. King Ed’s has been part of Stourbridge life for generations, and 26th September will be an opportunity to celebrate that together.”

Tickets for the event will be available via our ticketing platform, with further details to be released as part of the wider 50th anniversary programme.

The daytime celebration is one of several events planned to mark this milestone year, alongside the anniversary concert and alumni football match.
